Comments:

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 12/19/19 from 9:50 am to 3:40 pm at the South Hill location of United Methodist Family Services (UMFS). Personnel records and background checks for the corporate board officers were reviewed on 12/10/19 from approximately10:20 am to 2:15 pm at UMFS in Richmond Virginia (location of personnel records). Background checks for the corporate board officers are in compliance. The agency reports 19 approved provider homes and 22 children in care. During this inspection, two provider home records and three child records were reviewed. Two personnel records were reviewed. The community based services supervisor was available for the inspection and participated in the exit interview to discuss findings for the provider homes and children records which commenced at 3:15 pm on 12/19/19. The regional director participated in the exit interview by telephone. The human resources recruitment and talent manager and human resources coordinator were present for the exit interview to discuss the findings for the personnel records which took place on 12/10/19 from 2:00 pm to 2:15 pm. There were no violations of the Standards for Child Placing Agencies.
