Comments:

This inspection was conducted using an alternate remote protocol necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. This was an announced complaint inspection. The complaints alleged the licensee failed to collaborate with service providers regarding placement decisions and failed to adhere to responsibilities outlined in the foster home agreement. The inspection was initiated on 1/4/2021 and concluded on 1/15/2021. The regional director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. The agency reported 11 children in care, and 12 approved provider homes. Standards for provider homes and children services were reviewed for compliance. One child record and one provider home record was reviewed. One staff was interviewed regarding treatment and services provided to the child and the provider home where the child was residing. The regional director was available for questions throughout the inspection. An exit interview was conducted by telephone on 1/15/2021 from approximately 3:00 pm to 3:40 pm with the regional director, assistant program director, community based services supervisors, family services coordinator and assistant director of quality improvement and risk management to discuss preliminary inspection findings. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
