Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on April 12, 2022 from approximately 11:10 am to 3:15 pm at the Lynchburg office of United Methodist Children's Services (UMFS). An entrance meeting was conducted with the community services coordinator. The community services coordinator was available throughout the inspection to answer questions. The licensee reported 4 children in care and 6 approved provider homes. The Community Services Coordinator, Regional Director, Community Based Services Supervisor, Assistant Director of Quality Improvement and Risk Management, HR Coordinator, and Vice President of Human Resources participated in the exit interview conducted at approximately 2:30 pm on 4/12/2022 to discuss inspection findings. During this inspection, 1 foster child record and 1 provider home record was reviewed. Background checks for 1 intern were reviewed. Background checks for one additional provider home were reviewed. One employee was interviewed during the inspection. There were no citations for violation of the Standards for Licensed Child Placing Agencies.
