Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. An announced initial inspection was initiated on 7/14/20 and concluded on 7/15/20. The administrator was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. The administrator reported that there were no residents in care at this time. The inspector emailed the administrator a list of items required to complete the inspection and also reviewed items over the telephone, prior to the start of the inspection. The inspector conducted a virtual tour of the facility including bathrooms, bedrooms, medication rooms, living rooms, dining rooms, secured unit, laundry room, spa rooms, sensory room and the exterior of the facility. The menu, activities calendar, Rights and Responsibilities of Residents, evacuation drawings and emergency numbers on telephones were also reviewed. Three staff records were reviewed and selected sections were reviewed for seven additional staff. There were no residents in care; therefore, no resident records could be reviewed. Of the standards reviewed, there were no violations. The facility was beautifully decorated and well organized. Compliance could not be determined at this time in several areas of the standards. As a result, these standards will be reviewed during the 60-day unannounced monitoring inspection. Staff answered all questions and obtained all information requested. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation during this inspection.
