Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 04/07/2021. There were 68 residents in care. The facility was clean and free from any foul odors. All required postings were visible and current. The activities calendar and menu were reviewed. Five staff records and five resident records were reviewed in addition to criminal history reports.

Standard #: 22VAC40-73-860-I
Description: Based on direct observation, the facility failed to ensure cleaning supplies are stored in a locked area.
EVIDENCE:
During a walk through of the facility, a housekeeping cart was observed on the second floor unlocked and unattended. The cart contained multiple bottles of cleaning supplies.

Plan of Correction: The housekeeping cart was locked immediately after found by licensing. AL Director met with Environmental Services Director to discuss concern. Housekeepers were in-serviced regarding keeping carts locked at all times when unattended. AL Director and ES Director will conduct weekly walk-throughs to check carts to ensure compliance.
