Technical Assistance:
Upon enrollment of a child in a regulated child day program, such child day program shall require information from the person enrolling the child regarding previous child day care and schools attended by the child. The regulated child day program shall also require that the person enrolling the child present the regulated child day program with the proof of the child's identity and age.63.2-1809-A

Comments:
An unannounced code compliance inspection was conducted on 05/02/2024 from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM. There were 11 children present, ranging in ages from three years to five years, with two staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, and procedures. A total of five children?s records and three staff?s records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-A
Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to update background checks every 5 years.

Evidence:

Staff 3's sworn statement is dated 8/20/18.
Staff 3's previous central registry check background (CPS) check was dated 9/7/18. The updated CPS is dated 1/12/24.
