An unannounced code compliance inspection was initiated on 2/1/2024 and concluded on 2/1/2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. There were 10 children present, ranging in ages from 4 to 5, with two staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, and procedures. A total of five children?s records and four staff?s records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-A Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to obtain repeat background checks every 5 years.
Evidence:
The record for staff 1's fingerprints are dated 5/4/18 and the fingerprints for staff 2 are dated 5/3/18. The director stated they are the most current fingerprints for staff 1 and staff 2.Plan of Correction: Staff 1 and staff 2 will be required to update the fingerprint background checks as soon as possible. In the future all staff will be required to updated background checks every five years.
