Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 between 10:10 am to 12:15 pm to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. During this inspection, the center's director was present and assisted the licensing inspector throughout this inspection. The children were observed by the licensing inspector in the various classroom settings. The census for today's inspection consisted of 17 children in care with 5 staff present. The licensing inspector conducted observations of the children in care completing various activities to include participating in a circle and coloring activity worksheet, story time, and engaging in active play with various age appropriate equipment in the classroom with adequate staff supervision, preparing for lunch, and transitioning into napping. The children's lunch today consisted of chicken nuggets french fries, peas, oranges, and milk . The center's bathroom, kitchen, and classrooms were inspected during this inspection. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies and required postings were inspected. There were five children?s records and five staff's records reviewed by the inspector during this inspection. The center administers medication; however they did not have any being given at this time. During this inspection, the school aged children were not present, however the classroom areas were inspected. Description: Based on observation at the center and photograph, the center did not ensure all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence: 1.The center's hallway storage closet containing multiple cleaners and disinfectants with the labels "keep out of reach of children" and "warnings" was unlocked during the inspection.
2. Exhibit#1 Photograph of the multiple items found inside of the unlocked closet at the center.

Plan of Correction: The center will complete a double lock check to ensure the closet is locked at all times. The closet was immediately closed during the inspection.
