An unannounced inspection was initiated and concluded on 5/30/2024 in response to a self-report received by the licensing office on 5/24/2024. The on-site inspection started at 10:55 am and ended at 11:30 am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. This inspection included document review and interviews.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 6/12/2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard #: 22.1-289.031-B-2 Description: The center is required to establish and implement procedures for appropriate supervision of all children in care. The centers procedures state staff are not to pull or jerk a child in the direction they want them to go. A staff member was observed jerking a 7-year-old child by the strap of their backpack which resulted in the child falling to the floor. The staff member then picked the child back up into a standing position using the backpack strap. When the staff member let go of the backpack strap, they shoved the child away from themselves with their hand Plan of Correction: Our staff will be re-trained on how to handle children correctly. We will practice with scenarios on how to interact with children appropriately. We are implementing a new system for staff to be able to take a break away from a challenging situation by tagging in another staff member.
