Thank you for your assistance during this unannounced monitoring inspection. This on-site visit was conducted on February 13, 2023, from 11:20 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. Upon arrival, there were 24 children, ages 3-4, with 5 staff supervising, in two classrooms. Annual staff record review was conducted on February 24, 2023.
Areas observed were, educational activities, music/movement, hand washing/bathroom procedures, lunch, teeth brushing and nap. The classrooms are equipped with a wide variety of educational materials for the children in care. The children appeared to be well aware of their daily routine and schedule.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-240-A Description: Based on record review, the center failed to have one staff member complete the Virginia Department of Education sponsored orientation course within 90 calendar days of employment.
Evidence:
1. Four staff records were reviewed and updated.
2. Staff #3 did not have documentation of taking the Virginia Department of Education sponsored orientation course within 90 calendar days of employment.
3. Staff #3's date of hire was documented 10/31/2022. Staff #3's Virginia Department of Education orientation course was documented 2/22/2023.
4. The director confirmed the orientation course had not be completed within 90 calendar days of hire.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
