An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 6/5/2024 from 9:30 am to 10:36am. At the time of the inspection there were 10 children in care totaling 24 points and 3 caregivers including the provider. Children were observed washing hands and eating breakfast. Four children?s records and four caregiver/household members records were reviewed. The outside play space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills and other required records were also reviewed. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice and discussed during the exit interview.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-240-A Description: Based on observation and interviews, it was determined the provider did not ensure that areas and furnishings of the family day home, inside and outside, were maintained in a safe, and operable condition. Unsafe conditions include, visible cracks, bending or warping, rusting, or breakage of any equipment;
Evidence:
1. The trim material around the outside door frame that opens up to the playground, was cracked and broken approximately 6 inches.
2. The provider confirmed the trim was cracked.Plan of Correction: The provider covered the cracked trim work during the inspection.
