An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on November 14, 2023, at approximately 11:30am. This is a voluntarily registered home through the Department of Education in which the provider can supervise and watch up to four children at any given time. There were 3 children that were observed in the home with the provider. The Inspectors reviewed 3 children?s records. Children were observed napping and participating in free play. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program. The violation was discussed with the provider at the exit interview.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-170-A Description: Based on observation and interview, it was determined that the vendor did not ensure compliance with the standards, the terms of the vendor agreement, and all relevant federal, state, or local laws and regulations.
Evidence:
1. Per the Child Care Subsidy Program Vendor Notification dated September 13, 2023, the vendor was to complete the online Child Care Subsidy Program Orientation Training by October 28, 2023. As of the inspection date of November 14, 2023, the training was not complete. The vendor was unable to provide any information regarding enrollment or class participation.
2. Licensing inspector spoke with the regional manager, Sharon Howell, from Child Care Aware Program and Ms. Howell confirmed that Ms. Beverly Williams has not taken the Child Care Subsidy Program Vendor online class.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
