Technical Assistance:
1. Any new household member has 30-days to complete the background checks and TB test. These should be kept on-file in the home.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted at 11:40am. Observed 6 children totaling 13 points with 1 caregiver. Ratios and supervision were in compliance however, the capacity of children exceeded the approved number. Children were observed eating lunch, playing with toys, and taking naps during the inspection. The caregivers were actively engaged with the children, serving food and helping children to eat, and promptly tending to their needs. The daycare areas of the home were well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. An area of non-compliance with standards and laws reviewed was found. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-40-A
Description: Based on observations made, there were more children in care than approved for the licensed capacity. Evidence: The approved licensed capacity is a total of 5 children at any given time. Today there were 6 children in care.

Plan of Correction: The provider said she understands the licensed capacity is limited to 5 children and said she allowed the 6th child to attend today per the request of the child's parents. In the future, she will not care for more than 5 children at any time.
