Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 1:10pm-1:50pm. There were 6 children directly supervised by the provider and 1 assistant caregiver. The home, 2 caregiver records, 3 children?s records, 1 household member?s records, evacuation drills, and policies were inspected. Children were observed during naptime. Required linens were provided for each child and the proximity of cribs and cots were in compliance. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-830-A
Description: Based on record review and provider interview, emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced monthly.

Evidence:
1. Emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced during the months of February and March 2024.
2. The emergency drill log did not contain documentation of an emergency drill completed for February and March 2024.
3. The provider confirmed evacuation drills were not completed during those months.

Plan of Correction: Additional evacuation drills will be completed to make up the two missed drills.
