An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 6/14/2024 from approximately 9:15 am-12:49 pm. Additional information was obtained from the provider on 6/20/2024. There were 7 children in care, ranging in age from 1 year to 5 years with 3 caregivers supervising. A licensing renewal inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with an applicable standard or law and the violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction and date to be corrected for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it within 5 business days. Please specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected.
Your plan of correction must contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventative measures. Please do not use staff names; list staff by positions only.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-220-A-3 Description: Based on an interview, the provider did not inform the inspector as soon as practicable, but not to exceed one business day of the suspension of child care services for more than 24 hours as a result of an emergency situation.
Evidence:
The provider reported that the Family Day Home was closed from 4/01/24-4/05/24 due to a family emergency in a phone interview on 6/20/24.Plan of Correction: We were not aware but will make sure to inform inspector if it happens again.
