Consultation was given on training hours such as Montessori trainings counting towards the 16.0 annual hours needed each year for staff.
- Comments:

An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted on May 15th 2024 from 9:48am to 11:50am. There were 30 children directly supervised by 9 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, and policies were inspected. Observed children in 4 classrooms engaged in circle time, reading, and Montessori work including division, multiplication, sandpaper letters, and labeling adjectives. Emergency medication was reviewed for 2 children with Medication Administration Training (MAT) certified staff on-site. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Evidence:
Staff #5 (Date of Hire: 03/14/2024) file was missing documentation to demonstrate that she possesses the education and certification required for her position as a lead teacher.Plan of Correction: Ask the teacher to bring in her certifications.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-240-C Description: Based on record review, two out of the five staff records did not have orientation documentation that included all the required orientation training topics.
Evidence:
Staff #1 (Date of Hire: 02/01/2023) and Staff #2 (Date of Hire: 04/03/2023) orientation form did not include the following required training:
1) Prevention of sudden infant death syndrome and use of safe sleep practices
2) Prevention of shaken baby syndrome and abusive head traumaPlan of Correction: Staff will be trained on the required trainings 1 and 2.
