This annual subsidy inspection was conducted by the inspector using an alternate remote protocol necessary due to a state of emergency declared by the Governor of Virginia in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Preliminary data was obtained from the vendor on October 21, 2020.
An annual subsidy inspection was initiated on October 27, 2020, at which time the vendor was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection, and concluded on October 27, 2020. The inspector emailed the vendor a list of items required to complete the inspection.
The vendor reported there were seven children in care and two staff. The inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the vendor to ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for
Child Care programs.
Information gathered during the inspection determined areas of non-compliance with applicable regulations or law, and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-580-H Description: Based on review of two staff records and interview, the vendor did not ensure two staff completed the department's health and safety update course.
The records for Staff #1 (hire date 1/22/01) and Staff #2 (hire date 8/9/17) did not contain the Virginia Annual Health and Safety Update Training. Subsidy vendors and staff were required to have a certificate of completion for this training on file by March 1, 2020. A member of management confirmed the caregivers have not completed the Virginia Annual Health and Safety Update Training as of 10/26/2020 during a phone interview.Plan of Correction: I will have the staff complete the training.
