22VAC40-191 Background Checks for Child Welfare Agencies

Today we discussed background checks for staff that float between two programs. At this time, staff must have background checks that are tied to each of the programs where they work. The various contact numbers for Office of Background Inspection were provided to the Program Director so that she may contact them regarding duplicating inspections for a second child center site where an individual works.
In addition to training staff regarding SUIDS / SIDS the policy may be posted as a reminder. A copy of the poster from the CDC was provided to be utilized as a visual cue to staff.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 9/1/2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 38 children present, ranging in ages from 1 year to 9 years, with 7 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision. A total of 3 staff records were reviewed.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
