Technical Assistance:
Discussed the following standards :

8VAC20-780-160. Tuberculosis screening for staff and independent contractors.
A. Each staff member and individual from an independent contractor shall submit documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening.
1. Documentation of the screening shall be submitted at the time of employment and prior to coming into contact with children

8VAC20-780-530. First aid training and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)rs
A. At least one staff in each classroom or area where children are present shall have, within 90 days of October 13, 2021:
1. Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as appropriate to the age of the children in care from an organization such as the
American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute, or National Safety Council. The training shall include
an in-person competency demonstration; and
2. Current certification in first aid from an organization such as the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety and
Health Institute, or National Safety Council.

Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed
by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age
children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia
Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the
program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water
option that comes with additional requirements. The statutory requirement can be found online at

Comments:
A unannounced mandated monitoring inspection was initiated on June 7, 2024 from 1:45 pm- 3:25 pm. The inspection concluded on June 12, 2024. There were 175 children with approximatley 20 staff present. Additional administrative staff was present to assist. The inspector reviewed compliance in
the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming,special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 10 children records and 9 staff records were reviewed. The children were observed outside on the playground preparing for field day, tummy time in infant area, feedings, waking up from nap, transitioning to snack, particpating in additional activities. The outside areas was inspected.

The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
