8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 6/17/2024 from 9:30am to 10:25am to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 10 children ages 10 months to age 11 years old (10 points) with the Provider and 1 assistant. The programming area, attendance, outdoor play area, menus, Provider, Assistant and Household member records, 6 children?s records, emergency drills, emergency supplies, and policies were reviewed. Children were observed participating in transitioning from snack to outdoor play and clean up activities. Handwashing procedures were also observed. There was an adequate number of staff present with current certification in CPR and First Aid training.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
