Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A-8 Description: Based on review of four children?s records, the center did not have a written allergy action care plan for one child diagnosed with a food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the steps to take in the event of an allergic reaction.
Evidence:
The record for Child #3 (enrolled 01/12/2022) indicated the child has a diagnosed food allergy. A written food allergy action plan had not been obtained as of 05/01/2023Plan of Correction: Per the director: We will ask the parent to provide the allergy care plan.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on observations and interview, the center did not maintain all areas and equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Evidence:
A protruding nail and split board were observed as part of the playground fencing creating components that could entangle clothing or snag skin.Plan of Correction: Per the director: I will have my husband repair the fence.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-530-A-1 Description: Based on review of five staff records, the center did not ensure at least one staff in each classroom or area where children were present had current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Evidence:
Staff #5 was observed supervising eight children in the Two?s Classroom. Staff #5 was the only staff member supervising the eight children in the classroom. Staff #5 did not have current CPR as of 05/01/2023.Plan of Correction: Per the director: We will place staff with current CPR in each classroom and have staff without CPR certification schedule a class to obtain it.
