Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on review of the facility the center failed to ensure that hazardous materials were kept in a locked place that would prevent access by the children.
Evidence:
The storage closet located near the bathroom used by the children was unlocked and there was a bottle of bleach and a bottle of round up that was sitting on the floor.
The unlocked staff cabinet located near the bathroom had an iron supplement on a shelf accessible to the children.Plan of Correction: Administration corrected during inspection. Staff will be reminded to verify that hazardous items are in a locked area and inaccessible to the children.
