Technical Assistance:
Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. Comments:
An unannounced complaint inspection was conducted on 06/21/2024 in response to a complaint received regarding staffing and supervision and special care provision and emergencies. The complaint was concluded on 6/21/2024. Based on the information gathered which included staff interview, documetation reviewed and observaton this complaint is found to be NOT VALID in regards to staffing and supervision and special care provision and emergencies.

Violation were found but not related to complaint . The violation is listed on the violation notice and issued to the facility.

Description: Based on staff interview , the licensee did not ensure the center shall inform the department's representative as soon as practicable, but not to exceed two business days, of any injury to a child that occurs while the child is under the supervision of the center and requires outside medical attention.

Evidence: A injury occured on June 11, 2024. Child #1 was brought to emergency express facility to be seen by doctor. The center verified the parent notified the staff of having outside medical treatment due to the injury. The center confirmed they did not report the outside medical treatment to department representive with 48 hours/ 2 buisness days.

Description: Based observation , the licensee did not ensure equipment at the center, outside maintained clean, safe and operable.

Evidence:
The purple metal helicopter outdoor equipment was not anchored in the ground causing possible tipping hazard.
