Technical Assistance:
Today we discussed the layout of cribs to ensure that, when they are occupied, they have a minimum of 12 inches of space between them.
In addition, we discussed several blankets that were observed in unoccupied cribs and explored alternatives to these blankets, such as sleep sacks or lighter blankets. Also discussed was the importance of ensuring that bottom sheets on cribs fit snugly and securely before the crib is occupied by an infant since the varying thickness of crib mattresses may or may not be conducive to standard sized crib sheets fitting properly.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 1/30/2024 from 1:00pm- 4:35 pm. At the time of arrival 32 children were observed in care with 7 staff members present. The sample size consisted of 5 children?s records and 8 staff records. Children were observed resting quietly on cots and in cribs, infants were observed being fed and held, playing in activity seats, crawling and playing with toys. Snack time, in which children eat food brought from home, was observed as well as handwashing and table sanitizing. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
