Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 05/15/2024 from 2:4M to 3:45 PM. There were 39 children present, ranging in ages from six years to 11 years, with three staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staff qualifications and training, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, and special care and emergencies. A total of five children?s records and five staff?s records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-G
Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to maintain documentation of emergency shelter-in-place drills.

Evidence:

A review of 2023 emergency drills showed only one shelter-in-place drill was documented for 2023 when two are required. The director stated they forgot to document one because both were conducted.

Plan of Correction: In the future all emergency drills will be documented.
