Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and an on-site tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on March 7, 2022 and concluded on March 10, 2022. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 43 children present, ranging in ages from infants to preschool, with 10 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two child records and two staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-D
Description: Based on observation, cleaning and sanitizing materials were not stored separate from food.

Evidence:
In the cabinet of classroom #8, Clorox Wipes were stored next to Goldfish.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B
Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that all hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence:
1. In the bathroom for classroom #2, one bottle of Multipurpose Cleaner, labeled "Hazard" and "Keep Out of Reach of Children," and "Danger" was not locked to prevent access to children.
2. In a cabinet in classroom #9, one container of Clorox Wipes, labeled "Hazards to Humans" and "Caution"; Lysol spray labeled, "Caution" and Keep Out of Reach of Children," and Febreze labeled, "Caution" and "Keep out of Reach of Children" was not locked to prevent access to children.
2. In a cabinet in classroom #8, one container of Disinfectant/Deodorizer spray labeled, "Caution" and "Keep Out of Reach of Children" was not locked to prevent access to children.
