An unannounced non-mandated focused monitoring inspection was conducted on 05/30/2024. There were 26 children, ages 13 months- 7 years, 7 staff members providing direct care and supervision present during the inspection. The children were observed during rest time, arrival from school, teacher directed activities, and departure. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staff qualifications and trainings, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programs, emergencies, and nutrition. A total of 5 children?s records and 8 staff records were reviewed. The inspector arrived for the inspection at approximately 2:30 pm and departed approximately 4:15 pm.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-540-A Description: REPEAT VIOLATION
Based on observation and interviews with staff, the center failed to ensure that a first aid kit shall be wherever children are in care.
Evidence: No first aid kit was located in the black rental vehicle. Staff 8 confirmed that the black rental vehicle was used to transport three children from school on 05/30/2024.Plan of Correction: Provider will get first aid kit from the vehicle that is currently not being used to transport children and put it in rental vehicle.
