22.1 BACKGROUND CHECKS; CARBON MONOXIDE

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm. There were no children enrolled or in care during the time of the inspection. The family day home was observed for age/stage appropriate supplies, activities, and equipment for the ages of children in which the provider is licensed. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. One provider record was reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 22.1-289.011-F Description: Based on observation and interviews it was determined that required documents were not posted in a conspicuous place. Evidence: The most recent inspection as well as the current license were not posted in the family day home. Plan of Correction: The required documents will be posted in a conspicuous place.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-790 Description: Based on review of the child care area it was determined that the required telephone numbers were not posted. Evidence: The telephone numbers for local police and 911, poison control, and the name and telephone number for the emergency back up person were not posted as required. Plan of Correction: The required telephone numbers will be posted.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-180-A Description: Based on review of the provider's record it was determined that TB (tuberculosis) screenings were not repeated every two years as required. Evidence: The most recent TB screening on file for the provider is dated 02/23/2022. Plan of Correction: The provider will obtain a new TB screening.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-540-B Description: Based on observation of the child care area it was determined that walkers were not prohibited as required. Evidence: An infant walker was observed in the basement of the child care area in the family day home. Plan of Correction: The infant walker will be removed.
