Technical Assistance:
8VAC20-790-560-B Subsequent TB screenings are required at least every two years from the date of the initial screening, or more frequently if recommended by a physician.

Comments:
A subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on 06/12/2024. There were 29 children present, ranging in ages from four years to 11 years, with four staff. The Inspector reviewed five child?s records and five staff?s records. The physical plant was observed, and the provider was interviewed regarding policies and procedures.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to ensure all staff had a current certification in CPR appropriate to the ages of children in care.

Evidence:

The record for staff 4 had a CPR certificate that expired 11/2023.

Plan of Correction: Staff 4 will be required to obtain certification in CPR as soon as a class can be scheduled. In the future the administration will ensure staff update CPR prior to expiration.
