The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted on 5/15/24 from 10:00am to 12:00pm, as a result of a planned change in ownership. There were 113 children in direct care and supervision of 16 staff members. The physical plant, outdoor play area and emergency supplies were reviewed for compliance. Documents reviewed included 3 administrative staff records, the center's policies and procedures, forms and authorizations used for children's records, emergency procedures and response plan, menu, class schedules and other daycare postings.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to the department within 5 business days from receipt. Please specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Please do not use staff names; list staff by positions only. Any plans of correction not received within 5 business days will result in the plans not appearing on the Violation Notice and public website.
