An announced initial inspection was initiated and concluded on May 28, 2024. There were not any children in care as this was the initial inspection. While all areas of standards were reviewed all areas could not be determined because the center is not operating at this time. Eight classrooms, the kitchen and the outside play space were toured. Spaces/classrooms to be used by children and outside play space were measured. The program has three classrooms on the first floor and five classrooms on the second floor. There is one classroom that the building CO indicates as having direct egress to outside on the first floor. The center has labeled this room "yellow team." This is only classroom that may have children under 2.5 years of age as no other classrooms in the building have direct egress to outside. On first floor there are six toilets and five sinks in two bathrooms that is designated as unisex. On the second floor there are four toilets and two sinks. The playground is a fenced in area without any equipment.
There were not any violations cited during the inspection because there were not any children in care. However, there are two rooms on the second floor that did not have furniture appropriate for size of children to be served and two cubbies that are not secured to the wall. The program director was instructed to send digital pictures of these corrections.
The center would like to begin operating on June 17, 2024.
