8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Child Day Centers

A subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on 5/7/24, from 12:00 to 1:15.
The center had 51 children present in 4 groupings with 8 classroom staff and 2 support staff.
Lots of supplies and space for the children to explore.
A toddler room has been added since last inspection.
A violation notice was given to the center along with this inspection summary. Reviewed 6 staff files and 5 children's files.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-760-B-6 Description: Based on the inspection of the physical plant, the center failed to have a diaper disposal system that was foot operated.
Evidence: The trash can in the toddler room bathroom does not have a lid, the room has children from ages 11 month to almost 4 and children can reach in the trashcan.Plan of Correction: We will relace the trashcan with a step on trashcan.
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-800-B Description: Based on the review of the emergency drills, the center failed to record monthly drills.
Evidence: Reviewed the log for emergency drills and the drills conducted in March and April were not recorded..Plan of Correction: We will make sure we record the drills as they are practiced monthly.
