~Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on June4, 2024, from approximately 10:45am to 12:30pm. At the time of the inspection, 109 children were in care with 21 staff members present. Inspected today were the physical plant, 6 children?s records and 5 staff records, evacuation drills, and policies, medications, and medication authorization records. Children were observed during lunch eating hamburgers and watermelon, engaged in group singing and outdoor play time. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were observed. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in CPR, 1st Aid, MAT, and DHO training. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. One violation was found and are identified within this report.

Description: Based on staff record review, a subsequent TB screening was not obtained every two years for one staff.

Evidence:
Staff #2's last TB screening was dated March 2, 2022.

Plan of Correction: Staff will have TB screening done immediately.
