A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted today from 11:15am to 2:17pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 79 children under the supervision of 21 staff. Children were observed playing freely, painting, playing outside, interacting with staff, returning from a field trip, eating lunch, washing hand and diapering. There were 5 medications on site today. There was a sufficient supply of books, toys, and materials that were developmentally appropriate for the children in care. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector, Keesha Minor at (540) 340-2672, keesha.minor@dss.virginia.gov
