Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on October 9, 2019, from approximately 9:40am to 4:20pm at the Alexandria office of United Methodist Children's Services (UMFS). Personnel records were reviewed at the Richmond Office (location of personnel records) of UMFS on 9/17/2019 from approximately 9:35am to 11:05am. The agency reports 10 children in care and 28 approved provider homes. During this inspection, 5 personnel records, 3 provider home records and 1 foster child record was reviewed. Background checks for 5 additional provider homes were reviewed. The human resources recruitment and talent manager and the human resources coordinator were available for the review of personnel records at the Richmond location and the exit interview which commenced at approximately 11:00am on 9/17/19. The regional director and family systems coordinator were available for the inspection and present for the exit interview which commenced at 3:35pm on 10/09/2019. The vice president of community based services participated in the exit interview via telephone. An acknowledgement form was left at the end of the inspection. There were no citations for violations of the Standards for Child-Placing Agencies.
