Comments:

An unannounced focused inspection was conducted on February 9, 2022 from 11:50 am to 1:30 pm at the office of Presbyterian Homes and Family Services, Operating as Humankind in Danville, Virginia. This inspection was to determine compliance with plans of correction submitted for last inspection completed. An entrance interview was conducted with the Program Manager. The agency reports 10 approved provider homes and 16 children in care. During this inspection, 10 provider home records were reviewed and training for 3 staff were reviewed. One staff was interviewed. The Program Manager was available throughout the inspection and participated in the exit interview to discuss inspection findings, which commenced at 1:20 pm on 2/9/2022. There were no citations for violations of the Standards for Child-Placing Agencies. Results of the inspection are subject to public disclosure and will be posted on the Virginia Department of Social Services public web site within five business days, regardless of whether or not the Plan of Correction is completed.
