Parent Advisory Council Board

Don't be scared; be well prepared for emergencies with an emergency binder!

It is smart to be prepared for natural disasters and other emergencies. We encourage parents to create an Emergency Binder so that all of your family's important information and documents are in one place. Whether your emergency binder is digital-based or on physical paper, it should be easily accessible by those you love and trust, as well as first responders! Create an emergency binder. Inform your family and emergency contacts of the binder's location. Refresh your emergency information annually for accuracy. It's easy as 1-2-3. Don't be scared; be well prepared for emergencies with an emergency binder!

  • The creation of the Council is for the purpose of ensuring parent voices are included in shaping programs, services, strategies and policies.
  • VDSS is deeply committed to representing and reflecting the unique experiences, perspectives and viewpoints of parents on this Council.
  • VDSS strives to champion diversity, equity and inclusion for all.
  • For this Council's purpose, "parent" is defined as someone who was in a parental capacity, such a child's biological parent, legal custodian or guardian, and was involved with child welfare while in a primary caretaking role.
